Who are we?

A bit about us.

Hello I’m John D. Foley, third generation ironworker. I have invented, designed, fabricated, and patented my bicycle rack – Hatchbackrack401. My unique design is the only telescoping bike rack out there that can telescope up and down. Although you can use it on any vehicle, it is designed for a hatchback vehicle. In its closed position downward, you will not have to remove it from the vehicle to unload or load your cargo area. Our compact design, lightweight frame, and 100% weatherproof and rust proof is a unique combination. Our rack is made from high strength aluminum making for years of reliability.

On the horizon

HatchbackRack II Beach Carrier

The HatchbackRack II the Beach Carrier has all the same design and fabrication as the original HatchbackRack. The only difference is the HatchbackRack II is made from mild steel which allows you to carry your beach equipment and bicycles. It still has the great ability to telescope up and down so you may reach your cargo area without it getting in the way. Leave the sand at the beach get the beach carrier!
